Targeted Blogging - 3 Steps to Effective Targeted Blogging

January 12th, 2008 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Blogging used to be simply a way of expressing one’s feelings & opinions on line but now it has evolved to being one of the most lucrative ways to earn money on the internet. The most popular blogs are attracting thousands & thousands of visitors daily, which results to a significantly large income for all those blog owners.

The secrete behind these successful blogs is none other targeted blogging. Do you follow? The owners of these blogs write their entries & articles with a target audience in mind. They cater to what their target audience needs & wants. As a consequence, casual visitors convert easily become loyal readers.

If you are planning to generate extra income through creating a blog, read on & learn about targeted blogging:

1.) Clearly define your target audience. Before you write anything, you really need to make your research on the people you’ll write for. What do they want? What do they need? What appeals to them? Once you know the answers to these questions, it is going to be so much easier for you to write because you have solid guidelines to give you the direction you need.

2.) When you write your entries, make certain they areinformative, relevant, engaging, grammatically & structurally sound, & most especially, unique. You do not need to be an award-winning journalist to write great entries, but you really need to be a good enough writer to produce entries & articles that are worth reading. If you are not too comfortable with your writing skills, just practice often. In the end, it is about finding your own style in which you’re most comfortable. Once you find this style, refine it & make it your signature.

3.) Think outside the box. Take risks & be creative. Even though it is a good idea  to stick to your signature style of writing, spice things up by experimenting with a little bit of other writing styles. Dabble on other related topics as well. By being unafraid to step out of your comfort zone, you’re giving your readers variety, & you are also widening the scope of your targeted audience.

Internet Marketing Tip - Blogging is More Powerful than You Think!

December 7th, 2007 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

If you’re not blogging EVERY day, you’re missing out on 1,000’s of potential visitors to your website. Here’s why?..

Blog every day. Whether you’re hosting a blog on your own website, or using one of the free hosting services, it’s very important that you blog every day. If you’re still one of those businesses that do not have a blog yet, I would hire some one to install one on your website immediately. Or, if you have the know-how you can always install it yourself for free.

Why are blogs important? Blogs are not just important, they’re the most vital business tool you could possible own. Here’s a few reasons why:

  • Unlike your average website, blogs have special RSS software built in them that instantaneously tell ’subscribers’ the second you write something new. Some blogs have tens of thousands of subscribers. Except for email, what other tool can send a message out to tens of thousands of people at a time. Imagine what that would do for your traffic & sales.
  • Blogs also have software that tells you every time another site is linking to you… Within a click, you can tell the exact website that is linking in. The more sites you have linking in, the higher your website will be in the search engines.
  • Blogs are very customizable. In my blog, I’ve it that if I want to run an ad in every post, I can do it with a click of a button. If I want to add a signature to every post I can also do that with a click. Blogs are so incredible, that you can send a post to your blog via Email.
  • When your blog becomes popular, other bloggers will take notice & start linking to you… They will literally be directing people to your website or blog. Why do they do this? For some, it is because they like your content. For others, it is because they hope you’ll link back to them. Either way, it is a community of people helping each other build traffic.

More powerful than you think.

As the title of this article suggests, blogs are more powerful than you… There’re literally 1,000’s of ‘plug-ins’ that you can install into your blog that will make it more tempting for people to return to your site. Remember, the more people that come to your site, the higher your search rankings will be. The higher your search rankings, the more people will come to your site. It is a ‘catch 22′ in reverse. It’s beautiful.

Make Extra Money Online With Your Own Blog

December 1st, 2007 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

The desire to make extra money on line is inherent in so many different types of people. One of the most significant considerations when trying to find a way to make extra money on line is to make certain it’s compatible with your own interests & abilities. Never get stuck in the trap of chasing the very latest hyped up opportunity that virtually everyone else it chasing. Do you follow? That is very unlikely to work, & you could end up losing your hard earned money, as well as a substantial amount of your time. Make sure that what you do decide to do has some kind of proven track record.

One proven way to make extra money on line that is continuing to grow is blogging. Blogging is highly popular because it can be done by people with virtually any specialist area of interest, & with very little, or even no, outlay. A blog is a web log, an on line journal that is updated on a regular basis with fresh, relevant content. Because of this, blogs are very popular with the search engines, & a blog will usually outrank a similar static website. If a blog becomes popular it will even receive fresh content from other people visiting the blog, who are allowed to post their own comments about the posts being written.

So how is a blog a way to make extra money online? Well, the easiest way to turn a blog into a money maker is by using a contextual advertising program like Google Adsense, which will add targeted ads to your blog, & pay you whenever anyone clicks on the ads.

This is no easy way to get rich, as Adsense revenues are small unless you have a large network of blogs or websites. Another thing you can do is become an affiliate of a product related to the subject of the blog, & be paid a commission on any sales made. If your blog readers have come to trust you, & respect your opinion on what you’re offering, you can do well with this.

Of course you can always produce & sell your own product to sell to the readers of the blog, expanding on what you have written in your posts, & offering a complete knowledge package all in one place. This can be a way of making extra money on line quickly, once you have put in the hard work to develop & popularize your blog.

What Blogging Can Do For Your Business

November 25th, 2007 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Any business model can benefit from adding a web log to their domain.

There is certainly nothing new about the concept of blogging, & yet many business owners & Internet entrepreneurs do not seem to grasp the power of this simple strategy. This is evidenced by the fact that many business websites do not include a blog.

If you run a business site, but do not currently have a blog, there is a great chance that you’re leaving money on the table. Regardless of what kind of business you’re in, a dynamic & interactive web log will improve customer response & add profits to your bottom line.

Consider this:

When you use a web log as the platform for your newsletter or ezine, you can post each of your promotions to the web, & then invite your subscribers to your blog to view your most recent update. And so… So far so good. When readers follow the link from your email to your latest blog post, they will not just have the real opportunity to respond to the current promotion, they will be easily able to browse your blog & take action on offers you made last week, last month, even last year.

Quite often when I mail my list about my latest blog post, I end up making new sales on a promotion I myself did some time ago. And since my blog is connected to all of my other web sites, it is easy for me to generate traffic for multiple products & services with just one mailing.

And blogging is a great way to generate new web traffic for your domain. By setting your blog software to ‘ping’ search & directory portals each time you make a post, you can alert a large number of people about your new content with the single click of a button.

Also, search engines are more likely to spider your site on a regular basis if you update your content frequently. With blog software, making changes to the text on your web pages is as simple as sending an email; you just fill in a subject line & post body, & then click ’submit’.

You can even configure your blog so readers are now able to leave comments & questions about your articles. There is more. They do not have to take the time to send you an email, they can just click on the comments link & post their feedback right there on the spot. This is one of the easiest ways possible to encourage productive interaction among your prospects & customers.

Blogging requires no special technical knowledge. And so… Sure there is an advanced side to this marketing strategy, but just adding a web log to your domain & making posts on a regular basis can improve your traffic flow & customer response tremendously.

How to Make Money From Blogging

November 19th, 2007 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Recently, I received an email from Donna (one of my subscriber) & she said she do not understand “blogging for money”. I guess she’s pretty new to blogging & is wondering how can people make money on line just from blogging.

Actually, the concept of making money from blogging is simple. I’ll show you how:

It’s good to dedicate your blog to a specific niche. By example, if you’re interested in fishing, make certain most of your blog content is about fishing. Focus in one area or industry (that’s what we call a “niche”).

Why? So that you can attract targeted visitors who are also interested in fishing & it is also better for your Google AdSense. I’ll talk more about that later.

Now lets take a look at some ways which you can make some money from blogging:

1. Google Adsense
If you do not what Google Adsense is, I bet you must have at least heard of it! Simply said, Google will display simple text or image ads on your blog. Do you follow? The ads that will be featured depend on what you’re writing. As mentioned earlier, if your blog is about fishing, your ads will be related to fishing as well. So, if anybody clicks on the ads on your blog, you’ll earn some money ranging from a few cents to even a few dollars $ per click.

2. Text Links
You can make money by selling text links. Clear? It is like advertisement space, & advertisers pay you to put their website links on your blog. Do you follow? The best part is, you do not have to make these text links prominent within your website & is less intrusive than Adsense. Of course, the link price is also dependent on your blog’s Alexa & PageRank. If your blog is highly popular & has high traffic, you can fetch a premium price for your text links ads.

3. Affiliate Programs
You can make also make money from blogging by selling other people’s products. Amazon.com, ClickBank.com, CJ.com are some of the sites where you can find thousands of products to sell & earn a commission. For instance, you may make a recommendation in your blog post about a particular product. Your readers click on the links & visit the merchant’s website & make a purchase. Presto! You made a sale & you’ll earn a certain percentage from it.

4. Pay Per Post
Pay Per Post is a relatively new form of income that can be generated from blogging. In this, advertisers pay bloggers per post for writing about their products in their blogs. A note of cautious, if your blog has increasing numbers of pay-per-post posting, it will seem that your blog is a “advertisement” site & not really a “blog” where you post something personal or something that you can relate with.

Blogging Platform Tips For Maximizing Your Site Visiblility

November 13th, 2007 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Choosing which blogging platform to use is one of the most significant decisions that you can make as a blogger. The right platform can make blogging a breeze, & the wrong platform can really be a pain in the neck.Because the program that you use to blog with is such a powerful part of your blogging experience, it’s important to find a platform that gives your ideal balance between a user-friendly interface & a flexible framework that allows you to make your blog look & feel unique.

You will also make certain you have access to all the great features that can make your blog popular, such as RSS feeds. Finding the right platform is not always easy, but with a little bit of research, you’ll be on your way to finding the perfect blogging platform that suits your needs.

Deciding what your priorities are in terms of ease of use versus customization & features. Most highly customizable blogging platforms, like moveable type, are a bit more hard to use than very automated platforms like Wordpress.com or Blogger.com. If you’re new to blogs & to internet technology, you might want to sacrifice the ability to create a custom background design or to integrate a completely unique font into your template in order to find a program that will be easy for you to work with.

On the other hand, if you’re a veteran web designer with knowledge of html or javascript, you’ll probably find the limitations of a user-friendly platform annoying.

There is no such thing as a blogging platform that is objectively the best platform, because every blogger has completely unique needs. There is more. The blogging movement is very much about individuality, so it makes plenty of sense that there would be many different platforms available that are designed to meet the needs of different kinds of individual persons undertaking different kinds of projects to express their completely unique voice.

This diversity is a good thing, because it means that you’ll almost certainly be easily able to find a program that suits your level of technical expertise.

However, the fact that no two bloggers need the same thing from a blogging platform can make your search for the right platform a painful task. When you’re reading reviews of different platforms, attempt to keep in mind the reviewers point of view & the features you really need.

For example, a negative review written by an accomplished software designer who complains that a popular platform is too limited may tell you that the platform in question is ideal for a beginning blogger.

There is no such thing as the perfect platform for everybody, so instead of searching for the “best” platform, look for the best platform for your specific criteria. If you’re starting & do not want the hassle of web hosting right now, you can use www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com. Later, if you want to host your blog, you have the option to easily do it.

Blogging Income Can Be At Your Fingertips - Three Simple Rules To Follow

November 7th, 2007 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

You might know of a few people that are making a blogging income, but chances are, they’re making pennies & nothing more. These three simple rules will often help you get, & stay, way ahead of the competition.

First of all, you really need to know where to set tup your own blog. You might have your own domain & have a blog set up there. While it’s good that you have your own site, it’s bad  because it’s not well known. Other people, mainly newbies, do not even know where, or how, to make their own blog. You can rest easy, because there is an very simple way to get your blog up & running, while getting the most visitors.

I am talking about Webpress. Webpress is a enormous website that allows you to start as many blogs as you want. You can make 50 different ones if you want & they will let you… The great thing about Webpress is that everything is done for you… Basically, all you have to do is come up with a blog name & stat typing away. Take your time writing, though, because your blogging income depends on it..

Secondly, you really need to know what to write about. Sure, you want to pick something that you have knowledge of, but you also want to make certain that is popular & people are searching for it… For a quick check, go straight to Google & type in multiple keyword strings pertaining to what you want to write about. Are there a lot of search results? If there is, then you have done well. We will get to how to drive traffic to your blog in a second.

Say the niche of your blog is Fantasy Football. You do not want your blog to revolve around such a broad term. You want to find the multiple niches underneath Fantasy Football to maximize your blogging income. For example: Free Fantasy Football League might be a good niche. Fantasy Football Tools might even be a homerun. Your job is to find a niche that has a decent search volume, but isn’t overly hyped by competition. This is where you’ll get more bang for your buck.

Lastly, you’ll need to drive traffic to your blog. How do you do this? A great place to start is at an article directory, just like the one you’re at now. You most likely found this article through a search engine, so now you know that it can be a very powerful tool. Articles on your subject can result in thousands of visitors to your blog & will produce steady streams of blogging income. You will not believe how much content you can write in one sitting once you put your mind to it.

The great thing about blog income is that most of it’s untapped. Now is a fantastic time to spruce up your blog, or start a new one from scratch. In actual fact, you should start dozens of them. The more targeted traffic you get, the more cash you’ll receive. And so… So far so good. With the right knowledge, the right step by step guide, & the right frame of mind, you’ll be well on your way to becoming very efficient at making a blogging income.

Blogging for Traffic - The Life Blood of Your Business

November 2nd, 2007 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Online business owners, & Internet marketers, understand the importance of blogging to generate traffic. Traffic is the life blood of any web based business, & blogging can give your business a real boost. If you do not already have a blog, you really need to get one today. It will not cost you anything to set up, & you can be up & running in a matter of minutes. Google’s blogger blogs are probably the best & are indexed very rapidly which means you can now start to get visitors to your websites in no time at all.

You are not limited to having only one blog. If you get on average 1 visitor per day from one blog, imagine how many visitors you could get from 100 blogs, or 1000 or even 1 million blogs. There is no limit. The only barrier would be the number of hours you have available to create these blogs.

Once you create your blog, you really need to tell the world that it’s there, & to do this all you need do is send a ping. There’re loads of free ping services on the internet today, so just enter your blog address & send the ping. A few days later, go straight to Google & type the address of your blog into the search bar to see if it’s indexed. Once indexed, it will appear in search results.

So if your website sells pencils for example, your blog should be about pencils, & the different kinds of pencils available. You might have a post on your blog to discuss the best grade of pencil. Gradually you’ll get other bloggers coming to your blog to post comments or trackbacks on your blogs. Since your blog will also have links to your own websites, these visitors may be tempted to visit your sites, which could ultimately result in sales.

Also, as your blog grows, it will eventually gain what’s called PR or Page Rank. This is a Google term & denotes the popularity of the page currently being viewed. So if your blog reaches a PR of 3 or 4 for example, & links to your own site which might already have a PR of 1 or 2, some of the blogs PR will pass with the link to your sites. So you website PR might go up from PR2 to PR3 or PR4 just because it has a link from a relevant blog with a PR of 3 or 4. Some people call this Google Juice. Sites that have good PR & are relevant to your own websites can pass on some of their Google juice if they link to you… So you can imagine if you had 100’s of pencil related blogs each with a PR of 1 or 2, all linking back to your own website, all that Google juice would be great for your business!

There is a little piece of software you can buy that will automate this whole process for you, allowing you to create 100’s of blogs a day, & I review this on my website www.free-money-making-tips.com/blogging-for-traffic
