List Building - List Building Blogging Secrets

March 13th, 2008 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Here’s a simple yet very effective way to use a simple blog to build a very responsive list & not spend one penny to do.

Here’s how it is done.

1. Do a Google search for blogs related to your niche.

2.Use the keyword selector tool located at inventory.overture.com to check your keywords in your niche & name your blog based closely on them & also find other blogs that use these targeted keywords to post on them.

When finding relevant blogs that allow comments, you’ll do more for your web site by posting on these blogs in terms of list building, because these are people who are already interested in your niche & also who have visited a blog that is related.

I once posted a simple comment on a high traffic blog related to internet marketing & had nine people sign up to become members of an opportunity that I was promoting overnight!

This is not by accident, but because I myself made mention of what the product would do for them & what joining the real opportunity would do for them & the rest took care of itself.

By using the keyword tool, you’re finding only the blogs that relate to your product & niche. This helps you weed out the others & concentrate solely on building your list with the market that is interested in what you have to provide them.

Just applying these two blogging secrets can increase your list building results by 200% in just a few days!

Happy list building!

Comments Will Get You Noticed

March 6th, 2008 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Over the last few weeks we have looked at social networking to improving your traffic to your blog though Technorati & MyBlogLog & another way to break into the blogging world as a newbie or veteran is too leave comments on other people’s blogs. There is more. This is paramount to getting yourself noticed by others. There is more. Try find out who are the big players in your targeted niche & study their blog & why they have a enormous following? Ask yourself a few questions like…

Why is their blog different to yours?
How they relate to there readers?

And please do not rush in & say ‘nice article’ or ‘I agree’ nobody likes that, would you?

So after studying carefully their blog it is time for us to leave a comment or two on their blog. Remember a great comment needs opinions & knowledge on the topic in question but not necessary to agree with their view. This will normally get their attention & they may just reply to your comment & start a conversation.

Personally I feel leaving comments on other peoples blogs will help grow your blog as it starts to build a relationship between you & blogger, over time they will value your comments & will happy :) read your blog for good information & return the favour.

Lastly when you got this stage you’ll need to have good content on your blog.

A bonus to when your leaving comments is that in some blog sites will give you the backlink to your site & this will increase your PageRank?.

Blogging For Your Business - Getting Started With A Business Blog

February 29th, 2008 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

I see many blogs that have just been started. I know when they first began because the blogger begins them with something that says, “Hello, this is my first blog post.” If you’re going to start a blog, please do not do this.

The best way to start a blog is to jump right in like you have been posting for months. Right. Write about an issue or idea  that is relevant to what your blog will be about. If some one finds your blog you want them to feel like you already know what you’re doing, & not like they’re your very first reader.

For this reason I believe it’s better to plan your blog before you start writing it online. Make a list of topics that you hope to cover & make an outline of how you’ll be presenting these ideas on your blog. Make notes on at least your first ten blog posts before you make your first post.

Under your title for your blog you may want to include information about yourself, your business, & your reason for creating your blog. Do you follow? Then start in with your first post & release it to the world.

After you have written four or five posts it will be a good idea  to comment on other blogs that are related in some way to the material & information that you’re writing about on your blog. Also, refer to other blogs in your posts & trackback to their posts as you write about them. In this way you’re helping to create a relationship with other bloggers so that you’ll be accepted & welcomed into the blogging community.

By planning ahead your blog will make sense & will flow naturally into the blogosphere. In a very short time you’ll find that you have regular readers & a following. You want people to look forward to reading your posts & to feel like they’re learning something from you.

Blog Software for Beginners - Blogging Made Extra Easy

January 24th, 2008 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

Also known as blogware, blog software products are utilized for publishing personal web content online. A more specialized mode of content management, it affords you to upload photos, text, & other media in a style that resembles a journal or diary, normally arranged reversed chronologically. You can use it as simply a personal journal or diary, as a discussion thread, as a means for commenting, & possibly for promoting any service or product.

Your choices

Independent Software: This kind of software is downloadable via the Internet or can be installed on web servers. Buy it on line or from any software dealer & publisher. This kind of software allows you more customization but storage is normally limited because of a web server.

Hosted Software: This kind of software saves your data on servers from your host company. Normally free, some software have paid versions that give you more freedom when it comes to customization. The free versions how ever, also offer a certain degree of freedom in customization but also provide predesigned templates for you to use. And so… So far so good. With this kind of software, you really need to enter data so it can be saved on your host company’s servers for search & interaction purposes.

Choosing the best blog software for you

Independent software are more advisable for people who know HTML codes while the hosted software is more user friendly as the most you have to do is input your content & the host fixes it up for you… Whatever blog software you choose, remember that essentially, they’re there to help you express yourself. Choose one that you are comfortable in & makes it easy for you to update your content.

Best Top Blogs - WordPress vs Blogger

January 18th, 2008 Rob Posted in Blogging No Comments »

People often say that they have their favorite blog platform. But which of these two top blogs is the best - WordPress vs Blogger? People occasionally change from one to the other especially if they are not well established into one platform or another. Many people change to WordPress or Blogger from less developed blogging platforms.

The reasons for this can range from format preferences to technical preferences. Both of these top blogging platforms have some very strong features.

Blogger & Wordpress are both free to use. But the complete version of Wordpress would need its own hosting for the blog, which costs over $5 per month on average. Point for Blogger!

Blogger doesn’t offer the categories that WordPress does. This means it is harder to find content in a particular area. Point for WordPress!

Blogger works completely in a WYSIWYG editor. The available previews let you look before publishing too! Wordpress, even though easy to write articles, does occasionally demand use of some novice level HTML. Point for Blogger!

WordPress has a big array of free themes that are designed in numerous ways. Blogger offers a few free themes - most of which are the three column variety. This isn’t good for personal styling or customization for a blog. Point for Wordpress!

The FTP connections on Blogger isn’t that good - especially if you have posted a large number of articles, then connection drops off. And it can take a long time to upload info after you have connected when your posts have already been numerous. Point WordPress!

Wordpress also gives numerous plug-ins of which some are free of charge. These plugins can be great for a total blogging experience. Both Blogger & WordPress have some strong points, & either of these two top blog platforms can be the best for you depending on your blogging needs & desires.
