Affiliate Marketing - Some Strategies For Beginners

December 15th, 2007 Rob Posted in Affiliate Programs No Comments »

Affiliate Marketing- If you have no idea  what it is, do not worry, because this article is strictly for beginners, & I am going to tell you how its done so you can now start making money online.

Affiliate marketing is when you market a product belonging to some one else, & get paid a commission for every sale you make. The advantage of this, is that you NEVER have to ship anything directly to the customer because the vendor will handle everything. A lot of people select to promote information products instead of tangible goods. There is more. The benefit of these digital products is that it can be delivered directly to the customer via email instantly, so there is no waiting time for the customer. People love to buy digital products because of this reason.

So where can you find these digital products to start promoting on line & earn commission? Many people, including myself use clickbank.com for affiliate marketing. I urge you to head over there & sign up. Don’t worry, its free! Ok, so now that you’re signed up, start browsing through the different categories of information. There’re ebooks of all sorts including weight-loss guides, how to get the perfect golf swing, how to make money online, etc.

When you’re involved in affiliate marketing, the best thing to do is to set up a website or blog at blogger.com or wordpress.org. With wordpress.org you’re going to need your own domain name & hosting. You’re going to write a product review of the information product you chose at clickbank. Even if you know NOTHING about that product, & have not purchased it, you can still find a lot of information about it on line so that you can write your own review. Type in the product name in google & you will come up with a ton of information. Disect it, & write a review in your own words. Make sure that the product name appears throughout your content so the search engines can crawl & index your site into google & other search engines. Make sure you insert your affiliate link throughout your blog as well so you get credited for the sale when some one buys.

When it comes to affiliate marketing, you’re going to want targeted traffic, & lots of it! To get your blog ranking high in the search engines for your keywords, not just will you have to have your keyword appear throughout your blog, but you will also have to do what’s called ‘off page’ optimization. You are going to need backlinks. Advanced affiliate marketers are very familiar with backlinks & how to get them, so its very important you learn now. To get backlinks, submit articles to popular article directories such as ezinearticles.com & put a link to your blog at the bottom of your article.

Another way to get high quality one way backlinks is to submit your blog to on line directories. Have a search in google & you will find a ton of these directories. Clear? If that is too time consuming for you, there’re a number of companies that will manually submit your website to the directories for a small fee.

I hope you have started to grasp the idea  of affiliate marketing. Search for a product, start a website or blog to write a review of the product, optimize your website for the search engines, & find high quality backlinks to your website.

Good luck!

Oh from what i have seen There is a so called cheap version of camtasia something called camstudio. I have not found that to be of much use. I do not recommend this. Bear in mind, I do not have any affiliate whatsoever with camtasia, this recommendation is based closely on pure experience.

Who Should Consider Becoming an Affiliate?

December 3rd, 2007 Rob Posted in Affiliate Programs No Comments »

Have you ever thought that your skills & expertise were being wasted? You apply all of your creative know how & ability for your boss & their company for very little reward. Have you ever considered taking those skills & making them work for you instead of some one else? Have you looked into your own business enterprise only to realize the capital you need is way beyond what you can raise? If you have answered yes to any of these questions then becoming an affiliate could be the answer your are looking for.

Many of us would love to start our own businesses but two things generally stop us. There is more. The first being money & the second being risk. You need a significant amount of capital to start even a small sole proprietorship. Even though financing is available there is still the risk factor. A fairly large percentage of small businesses fail in the first year. If you make it through that first year then there’re still many challenges that have to be met. It could be five years before you see any real profit. Most of us can not wait this long. We need a constant flow of money coming in to meet our daily obligations.

Becoming an affiliate can get you started on the road to independence with no risk to you… By becoming an affiliate you work to sell or increase the revenues of another company. This can be done in a variety of ways. You can work, selling a particular line of products. There is more. The head company takes care of the advertising & creation of the items; you simply work out how to sell them. You are paid for your performance. The more you sell the more you make.

You can also create an on line affiliate marketing business. Clear? If you are creative & handy at making websites then this could be the perfect opportunity for you… By allowing your site to become an affiliate site with a major search engine, you could make large amounts of profit with ad revenue. Companies such as Yahoo publisher & Google ad sense can assist to get you started. They handle all of the advertising costs & placing allowing you to concentrate on bringing traffic to your site. There is no cost to you & absolutely no risk.

People who enjoy independence & flexibility in their work make good affiliates. There is more. Those that desire or need flexible working hours can gain the most from being an affiliate. You paid according to how well you perform, not on how many hours you work. You can schedule your work around other things such as families or other commitments. Clear? If you are independent & a self starter than a career as an affiliate is perfect for you.

If you’re creative, motivated & driven then possibly consider becoming an affiliate. You can run your own affiliate business from home with no cost or obligation to you… If you’re good at working independently then as an affiliate you can not go wrong. You will have the freedom to work as & when you please & will realize the rewards of your own hard work. Start putting your skills & creativity to work for you rather than some one else. And so… So far so good. What you receive in return will be well worth it… Consider a career as an affiliate, you nothing to loose & everything to gain.

How to Succeed in Affiliate Marketing And Set Yourself Apart From Other Affiliates

November 29th, 2007 Rob Posted in Affiliate Programs No Comments »

Affiliate marketing has been regarded as one of the very best way to make money online. In actual fact, it has become so popular that many people have quit their job & set their foot into the industry. This may be a good sign for the affiliate marketing industry, but for individual affiliate, this means the competition is getting tougher & tougher. For the reason that many of your competitors are promoting the exact same program, in the exact same zone or on the exact same websites as you means that there is a need for you to distinguish yourself from the rest of the affiliate marketers in order to be successful. Now here are some tips that you may consider to set yourself apart from other affiliates & outwit & beat them in their own games.

Build Your Own Website

Having your own website establishes your presence & credibility online. Thus, the first thing that you really need to do is to build your own website. Potential customers usually check out websites for reviews & information before they make their purchases. By providing useful information to your potential customer, they have a higher tendency to buy product that you recommend.

Create Your Own Marketing Material

Another thing to remember is to create your own marketing material. Do not over rely on the merchant’s ad & marketing tool. The reason is that the same set of ad & marketing tools have been used by countless affiliates who are marketing the same product as you… The ad itself could have already lost its appeal to the crowd. Besides, creating your own ad & marketing tools give you more flexibility & controllability over the affiliate marketing campaign.

Start Your Own Product

Create some products of your own & make it available only through your website. It can sometimes be in the form of ebooks, tips, reviews etc. You want your customers to keep coming to your site & the very best way to do that is to have something on your site that they can not find on others.

Build Relationship With Your Customer

Follow up & build a strong relationship with people who already buy your product. A very good way to follow up with your customer is through email autoresponder system. Concurrently, you can also provide customer support to answer any doubt on the product & provide tutorial on how to use the product. Treat your customer like your friends & share with them the benefit of the product. Remember also to tell them its limitation. When your customers know that you truly care for them, they will come to trust you & the thing that you’re promoting.

Be Focused

Do not attempt to market everything you see. And so… So far so good. With services such as click bank, it’s easy to become overwhelmed & attempt to market everything in the click bank marketplace. Find a niche that you’re familiar with & market product of that niche. It is earlier & better to market the product that you know.

As more & more affiliate programs launch in the market, it has become necessary for you to set yourselves apart from other affiliate in order to win the game. Follow the tips above & you’ll be on your way to success. As with any other businesses, success will not happen overnight. You’re required to put in a lot of hard work into it… Good luck to you in your new venture.

Affiliate Revenue - Does Your Promotional Copy Attract Or Repel Visitors To Your Site?

November 25th, 2007 Rob Posted in Affiliate Programs No Comments »

Time & again I come across websites that are promoting products that it’s plainly obvious the developer of the site has no real knowledge of. Some times what disappoints is the clumsiness of writing (grammar, spelling & descriptive style). In marketing terms this is equivalent to professional suicide. It’s a fact that when people visit a site they weigh it up in an instant & hit the back button if the content fails to match their inquiry or gives a weak impression. The latter can of course be put down to a slow loading page or clumsy graphic design but it’s often caused by something that is easily avoided - poor copy integrity.

The integrity of the copy relies on the knowledge & enthusiasm of its author. Any written contextual information on any website marketing any product, affiliate connected or otherwise needs to convey those qualities in the copy. Most people when they read text on the Web do it rapidly, scanning the salient points & very rapidly assimilating an impression of its quality, accuracy & relevance to their search enquiry. If this doesn’t match with their expectations, then they will leave & leave fast. That is the nature of the way people surf the Web today.

To avoid this happening to your visitors there’re many things you can do. The written text should not actually be too small or too LOUD. It should be grammatically correct & neither too formal or too laid back in style. It should carry with it sufficient technical details without boring the reader & it must be concise & not too verbose. The writing required will need to be a kind of Web equivalent to the typists shorthand. In other words avoid too many unnecessary words. There is more. The best thing you can do, how ever, is to project your enthusiasm for your products. There is more. This can be accomplished by expressing your detailed knowledge of them & include too specific features that you can endorse yourself from ‘your own experience’. If you wish to offer your visitors fully specified details provide a link too it… The individual visitor can then decide rapidly if they wish to do so or to remain on the current page scanning the broader content on offer.

Ideally you’ll already possess the necessary intimacy of knowledge of your products & writing your text should be a breeze. If you do not, admit it to yourself & set out to acquire that information. Read up about the products. Right. Weigh up the pros & cons & learn which features are the products major selling points. Return to your site & update from a position of knowledge & insight. This will I guarantee you, make a enormous difference to the way your site is ‘read’ & of course to the length of time your visitors stay to peruse its contents. Long term, a well expressed, concise yet informative, set of contextually connected copy will lead to more sales.

Oh, & never forget to tell your visitors what to do, i.e buy here, click here, go straight to shop etc. at relevant places on your product page. People like to be led to the till, not left floundering searching for an assistant!

My articles are always focused on subjects that I’ve experienced or am in the process of experiencing. I offer my views from this standpoint & do not purport to be an expert. I do hope though that a part or a whole of anything that I write may be of interest or help to others. Clear? The Secret Formula to Affiliate Success

November 21st, 2007 Rob Posted in Affiliate Programs No Comments »

The internet has become a reservoir for buyers & sellers. Consequently, this has to lead to wave of on line malls pouring onto the internet. The customers are then left with websites that offer little, if any content, a lengthy URL which isn’t only forgettable but annoying to type in & a array of products tossed all over the webpage.

A number of affiliate marketer’s opt for this method of marketing. The reasoning behind it ? ‘if I offer all my sponsors’ products on this freebie website I will not just make money but I will not have to spend any on a domain.’ The problem is that they never truly take their customer’s needs into consideration & fail to reach affiliate success.

Everyone that logs onto the internet has a need of some kind. They are either searching for a friend, a weight-loss solution, a method to get through their college reading material faster, or maybe just a new pair of hiking boots. Right. Whatever it is, they have a reason for being there. Online shopping differs from offline shopping in that on line customers are searching for something specific, they do not normally browse & they hate to be confused.

Given this bit of information the secret to getting more sales as an affiliate marketer is to offer one quality product on a website with a registered ® domain name.

Instead of signing up with 20 anti aging affiliate websites select one that you know will sell & then create a website around that… Offer your customers articles that provide hard to find information, create a forum where visitors can discuss what works among themselves, write a newsletter that visitors can subscribe to. The goal is create a community thus building trust. This makes it easier to soft sell your customers without bombarding them with many different products that may or may not relate each other.

Before you begin to set up your website you’ll first have to have a domain name. Having a paid registered ® domain name as opposed to a free site on tripod or Angelfire is a difference of night & day. For starters, you appear more professional; you care enough about your business to invest money in it, & with domains being as low as $30 a year you can afford to give this impression.

Secondly, the affiliate success of many websites is dependant on links & there are websites out there that will not allow free domain names onto their site. This makes it hard to get listed on Google & Yahoo & especially Ask.com which only ranks sites that are connected to by other sites.

When choosing a domain go with one that is easy to remember & brand-able. Try to keep it short & simple with keywords that relate to your product. Affiliate success & a website about antiaging could be, anti-aging solutions, anti-aging remedies, stop aging, etc. Even if you do use your name attempt to incorporate some keywords.

Try & stay with the .com extension. It has become synonymous with the internet & is much more recognized than the .net, .org, .cc, etc.. This is true especially if you’ll be doing offline publicity & marketing.

Whatever you decide keep your website focused around one thing. Just remember the secret formula-one product + one domain=profits. Affiliate success is then right around the corner.

Affiliate Networks - Working for You?

November 17th, 2007 Rob Posted in Affiliate Programs No Comments »

I’ve noticed a trend in the last few years - that the affiliate is getting less respect & rights in the common markets. Right. With many affiliate networks running companies with a zero tolerance kind of attitude. Even a misplaced or incorrect advertising code seems to be a reasonable excuse to exclude or terminate an affiliate these days.

Why is it strange? Affiliates ‘make’ an affiliate program do not they? Well that is not the view of the most powerful networks around on the internet today, who seem to think protecting the interests of their merchant clients is infinitely more important than the ’small’ people who sell & ultimately make money for them.

I’ve known countless webmasters who have had money withheld, delayed or even disappear from the networks, all with insignificant or no reasons for doing so.

I’ve contacted various affiliate networks about their general attitudes towards their affiliate partners with repeated emails for 3 months, the only replies received were auto-responses & two hand typed emails, one stating that if I was not happy :) with the service I could terminate at any time! The other & only decent satisfactory reply I got was from AffiliateBot, which stated that they were continuing to improve their services & that I could contact them at anytime if their was a need for any additional resources.

It is certainly wrong that the ’small people’ in the affiliate industry should be left in the cold by these large organizations that they’re ‘working for’. After all the small people do make up a large percentage of the income that they deal with.

Another aspect of todays affiliate networks is - What do they actually do?

A prime example is CJ or commission junction - No disrespect to them, they have become by far the largest affiliate network on the internet, & their business practice is definitely up to scratch. But what do they do? As far as I can tell, not much. Each company affiliate program approves their affiliates, CJ do not do that… The company gives them all of the affiliate advertising tools, CJ do not do that.

As far as I can tell the only things CJ actually does is encode urls, track data, & pay people. And so… So far so good. Which as simple as it is, it is amazing they have become such a large on line company. How do they do it? I have no idea, but they must have some of the best internet marketing & sales people around!

In all seriousness, well done to them, they have cornered the market & have made a relatively simple initial idea  into an internet world beater.

So how do you select an affiliate network for the first time? I had suggest research, do not research on the affiliate networks website as you know everything will be as subjective as ever - type in the networks name on google added by ‘forum’ or ’scam’ & see what people have to say about the networks services. Don’t just type the name of the network or followed by ‘review’, as you are likely to get completely subjective opinions from people who are trying to promote or sell the affiliate networks services.

So a last word for you all, be careful, & select carefully - it is better taking your time to decide than rushing in, advertising on your site, & then finding the network you chose is not right for you.

Making Money Online as an Affiliate - Is it Possible?

November 13th, 2007 Rob Posted in Affiliate Programs No Comments »

Have you been searching for a way to make money on line only to fall short time & time again? If you have not yet figured out how to make money on line then this article is written especially for you… There is a way to make money on line & you’re about to find out how.

The very first thing to do is to buy a guide that will show you how to get started making money from home. YOu are not going to learn how by osmosis & you probably can not read people’s minds so you’re going to need a guide to follow. The following steps are exactly how to get started.

Step 1: Buy a guide that shows you how to make money online

Unless you want to spend years researching & trying to get all of the free ebooks & guides available then what you’ll want to do is buy a guide that shows you the steps to make money online. Here are a few that I prefer:

Profit Lance

Affiliate Empire

These are 2 of the best ebooks that will show you step by step how to get started making money online.

Step 2: Decide what to sell

You have to sell something to make money on line whether it be an ebook or a service. These steps are detailed in the above ebooks but the easiest way to start making money on line is to become an affiliate. As an affiliate you’ll promote products that are made by other companies. You’ll get a special link to place on your website & when people click on that link & buy something you get paid a percent of the sale.

For example let’s say you’re an affiliate & you’re promoting an ebook on how to lose weight. You have a review of this product on your website. And so… Someone then gets to your website & clicks on the link after reading your review. If they buy that product then yhou make money… It’s an information product so that means you do not have to carry inventory or anything & the owner of the ebook takes care of everything else. All you have to do is promote your website. It’s that easy. The hard part is putting all of this together which very well explained in the before mentioned ebooks. There is more. Think about this. Clear? If you have 1 website that sells weight-loss information & makes you about $100 per week, then why not have 5 websites that sell other types of information? This is a numbers game & the more you promote products the more money you’ll make.

Step 3: Putting everthing together

This is the part where most people fail. They buy an ebook that tells them the steps needed to make money on line & then they never do any of them. There is no ebook or system that will just start dumping money into your bank account. You have to learn how to make money on line before you’ll actually make any. Then you have to actually follow through & do the steps outlined in the ebook. The basic steps inside the ebook are going to be:

Step 1: Decide what to sell Step 2: Get a website & hosting Step 3: Get traffic to your website

All of these steps will have very detailed information about what kind of hosting to buy, how to set up your website, & then how to get traffic to your website. These are the key ingredients to making money on line & once you master these then you can move foward & learn more secrets to making money on line like building an email list & creating your own information products. There is more. This should give you a great start. Follow these steps & you should be making money on line in the next few weeks. There is more. That first sale is a great feeling & then it just continues from there because you experience first hand that it’s indeed true that you can make money on the Internet from your home computer.

8 Steps to Affiliate Sales Using Classified Ads

November 9th, 2007 Rob Posted in Affiliate Programs 1 Comment »

Many websites advise not to use classified ads to promote affiliate programs. But they’re wrong. If you know how to use classified ads effectively, you’ll be easily able to drive traffic to your affiliate sites without spending a dime.

1. Keep the ad simple. Don’t attempt to sell anything. You are trying to get clicks & drive traffic to websites. Your goal is to arouse curiosity in the readers’ mind & urge them to click on the link that takes to the landing page of the affiliate sites.

2. Create a compelling header. This is the first line a reader scans. Clear? It should grab her attention immediately. If it can not attract her like a magnet, she will not read the rest of your ad description. Don’t write the type of headers that thousand other ads have in the classified site. Make it compelling & create a psychological trigger. To get the most clicks from your ad, use words like “cheap”, “free”, “proven” & “shocking”.

3. The next step in creating your ad is the first two sentences of the ad itself… According to many experts, the very best way to make your ad appealing is to state a quantifiable benefit in these two lines. There is more. This benefit should make the reader recognize right away that they have come to the right place. A very good way to do this is to tell the reader exactly what solution your product offers them.

4. The third sentence of your ad should be about a crucial feature of your product. This can be a completely unique selling point. The purpose is to draw the reader into clicking through now to find out the details & price of the offer. Just remember to keep the ad as simple as you can. The goal when advertising with classified ads is to use as few words as you can to achieve the greatest results.

5. Next you’ll need places to post your new ads to. The criteria here is to find places that will allow free classified ads that get large amounts of traffic themselves. Use Google & search using key words “free classifieds”, “free ads”, “free business ads”. Use the first two pages of Google listing & start visiting each site. Use sites that are simple & easy to use & keep a listing of those sites in you browser’s favorites.

6. Don’t forget to put a link in your ad. The link will take users to your affiliate site when they click it… Use classified sites that have an input box for URL. Put your link starting with http. If the site doesn’t have an URL box in the ad submission page, just forget it unless you know the html syntax of a link.

7. Don’t spam the free classified sites by posting ads in irrelevant categories. You can post as many ads as you want but post only in a few relevant categories. Clear? If the site doesn’t allow you to post multiple ads, there is no need to visit the site for the second time.

8. Use pictures or banners in your ad. If the classified site doesn’t have a picture upload feature, you should give a second thought if you really want to use the site for your promotion. You can use it if the site gets lots of traffic.

By following these proven methods & a bit of perseverance, your success & profits will be greater. It will give more effective exposures to affiliate programs you’re promoting. Just head to clickbank & pick up a few affiliate programs & start promoting using free classified ads.
