SEO for Adsense

March 9th, 2010 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

If you’ve been using Google’s AdSense on your pages you obviously feel the need to somehow generate even more traffic for your website, which in turn would translate to more AdSense click and a higher income.

But who do you do this? Well, the major way you’ll get visitors to see your website (other then using AdWords, which is encouraged as well) is to use some techniques to have search engines send more and more users towards your page, by ranking high in search results for your topics of interest.

Believe it or not this is a technique, better known as search-engine optimization or simply SEO. So here are a bunch of tips that come handy under every amateur or professional optimizer’s belt.

The first thing you need to take care of is the actual source code and layout of your page. This has to be kept as simple as possible. The problem comes when AdSense and the search engines themselves begin to have troubles in extracting the most relevant keywords on your site because of a too complex layout.

Secondly, try to have each one of your pages target only one specific topic. This way it is a lot easier for them to get indexed properly and for the AdSense ads to be consistent with the content of the site itself.

Also, try not to include too many hyperlinks in your page as well. This also means you should try not to use too many AdSense ads on your page either.

If there are certain keywords you wish to target, make sure the word you wish to target is present in the title, in the first paragraphs as well as in the name of the file. While you’re at it you might want to ensure the word springs up in the page’s last paragraphs.

And of course, it’s very important for your content to have original and compelling content. How do you do this? Well the easiest way to do it is to find something you’re really passionate about. That way, providing you give it a lot of effort you’re bound to have a great page quite fast.

If the content you use in your site is in the public domain (which is highly discouraged) make sure that you at least give it an original title, and add an opening and a closing paragraph of your own.

This takes a little while, but if, after waiting, you still can’t find your page near the top, you should try rewriting your title and your first and last paragraphs. It doesn’t take much, often just changing a few words will give you the right results.

And of, course there’s the use of keyword tools that may aid you in finding some good keywords to include on your page that will drive visitors to your site more and more.

So those are about the basic techniques in search engine optimization. You can find a lot of computer tools to aid you in doing this, and of course, Google is a great place to search for this.

In the end, you’ll find that SEO is a complex topic, and entire books have been written on the topic as well. You might find that you have a lot of optimization you need to do in order to get more and more visitors to your site and clicking those precious AdSense banners.

You need to have optimized niche website templates for best results. You may find the best adsense templates and blog templates at Adsense Big. They are offering 100 fresh new templates every month.

Chpater 3 – The Important Relationship Between AdSense and AdWords

March 9th, 2010 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

HTML clipboard

Before continuing further in the AdSense discussion it is important to understand the relationship between Goodle AdSense and Google AdWords. When it comes to pay-per-click advertising AdWords is hands down the Internet leader.

AdWords are those text advertisements that appear down the right hand-side of a Google search page. The ads are directly related to the keywords you use in your Google search. Advertisers are assured that there advertisements are shown to individuals who already have an interest in their product. AdWords is an amazingly powerful and effective advertising platform on the Internet as businesses are able to advertise in a highly targeted manner.

For example, let’s assume you sell widgets. You can set up your AdWords campaign to only to be shown when people type the word “widgets” in the Google search form. Your ad is shown to a person who has some form of interest in widgets. If someone types in “cars” then your ad will not be shown.

Obviously Google wishes to make a profit from AdWords so when an individual clicks on one of these ads Google charges the advertiser for the click. There is no set charge, rather advertisers bid for keywords and ad position. The advantage to advertisers is that their money is not wasted on non-interested parties clicking on their ads. With the AdWords system Google has enabled small businesses to compete in the Internet marketplace without breaking the bank.

AdSense was a follow-up program to AdWords, allowing website owners to get a piece of the advertising pie. As an extension of AdWords, AdSense allows website owners to place AdWords ads on their web pages. The difference regarding which ads are displayed is not determined by search keywords, but rather by page content. As an AdSense member, Google gives you a piece of JavaScript to paste in the code of your web page. That’s it. This JavaScript enables Google to decide which ads are most appropriate to show on your web page and tracks ad performance as well.

Google’s advanced content recognition technology is so intuitive that it determines which country an Internet surfer is from, displaying ads accordingly. For example if your website sells widgets, Internet surfers in the USA would see advertisements from USA widget retailers and British Internet surfers would see advertisements from British widget retailers. When someone clicks on one these of ads from your website the advertiser is charged a fee and you receive a portion.

Google has established safeguards preventing website owners from clicking on their ads to generate income. They can determine if someone is committing fraud and will ban such individuals from AdSense forever. Participating in this fraudulent behavior is stealing and hurts the industry in general. When individuals are caught and banned it is a positive for the rest.

It is advised that you open an AdWords account in addition to your AdSense account. This will become clearer as we address future AdSense subjects. Like AdSense, AdWords is free to join.

This was a basic presentation of how AdSense and AdWords are related. It is important to study this relationship further to succeed in generating and maximizing revenue from AdSense. Many website owners simply join AdSense, insert the code, expecting the dollars to flow. When reality and expectation don’t meet, the website owner becomes disillusioned and abandons AdSense. Like most things in life, success takes work and perseverance. If you’re expecting quick money you need to look elsewhere. However, if you do your homework and grasp these fundamental concepts you’re on your way to doing well.

Adsense Turnkey Websites – Are Worth Their Money ?

March 9th, 2010 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

As it becomes more and more difficult to earn money with Affiliate marketing, earning money with Adsense is back. What is the most easiest way for a newbie to start an online business ?? Right: Adsense. You don’t have to deal with customers. Do you know why a lot of people are hesitant to start an online business? Yes, because they fear to handle customers complaints and refunds etc. What do you think is the second big hurdle people are having problems with making money online.

They think they need to sell and are not sure where to get inventory from. Guess what, with Adsense you don’t need to worry about inventory, storage, delivery etc. In simple words: Your write – You upload – You Earn ! You can simply start a blog, for example Blogger.com or Wordpress.com offer easy to use blogs. You can then start writing and adding content regularly. By doing this you will earn money from your Adsense ads you have incorporated into your site. Or you could start a directory, article or a big portal website. People add THEIR content to YOUR site and you are in business. But be aware that setting up those big directories is time intensive and costly. An alternative could be to purchase some Adsene-Ready Turnkey websites. You can simply modify one file with your Adsense code, and all article content pages automatically show Adsense ads with your code. You can then simply upload and advertise your article content pages. You will be surprised how easy it is to make money with Adsense.

And you don’t have to worry if you have chosen the right words, sales copy etc. If you funnel your traffic it’s almost impossible not making any money with Adsense. Some people might think that Ready-To-Go Adsense site are a problem for search engines as they could show some duplicate content. I have another opinion about duplicate content. If I look for a specific article I want to read and I search Google, do you think this article comes up only once? No way. For example: Some time ago I have written an article and submitted to huge number of article directories. If the myth of duplicate content would hold true I would only find my article on one site or directory. But this article has been distributed through more than 7,000 different sites all over the internet. So, does Google still index ‘duplicate content’. Sure Google does it – Big times. If Google would not index any duplicate content sites, thousands of article directories would be immediately out of business. And look at the trend !

Every day new article submission sites are born and all what they do is to show duplicate content. And do you think they earn with Adsense? You bet they are, otherwise they wouldn’t have started this business in the first place. So, if you use a combination of Ready-to-go Adsense Turnkey sites and an article directory, you simply can’t fail earning money with Adsense.

Why Adsense Is The Fastest Way To Make Money Online

March 19th, 2008 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

There is hardly any argument over the fact that the Google Adsense program is a very fast way to start to make money online. In fact there’re those who would say that it’s in actual fact the fastest.

There are a number of reasons why this is true. If for instance you already have a site that is up & running & would wish to start making money… Most affiliate programs would require some very serious & specific marketing work on your side to generate traffic. Once sufficient traffic has been generated, you would then need to wait & see if you can turn any of that targeted traffic into actual sales. There is more. The truth is that the whole process would take a long time of painstakingly hard work for you to be easily able to start generating any revenue.

The Google Adsense program is different in that one doesn’t need too much traffic & neither do you really need to sell to make money… This is by far the most attractive aspect about the Adsense program.

Actually all you need is for some of your current visitors to click on your Adsense ads & you would immediately start to make money… The amazing thing is that you can even easily increase on your earnings without a significant increase in traffic by simply targeting high-paying Adsense ads. There is more. The way to do this is to use keyword phrases that have a high value placed on them as a result of bids placed by advertisers.

This isn’t too hard to achieve & is further proof that Adsense is a pretty fast way to make money online.

Monetize Your Site With Google AdSense

March 13th, 2008 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

Is AdSense right for your site? It’s a great way to make a little extra money from your website. But it may not actually be right for every site.

If you have a retail site, you may not want other ads on your pages. Even though you can block sites from appearing on your pages, it will be hard to keep all of your competitors out of the Google ads. Clear? I for one do not use any other ads on my retail site.

Also, there is no reason to put ads on a brand new site with little or no traffic. Put effort into marketing your site & then you can slap the AdSense on. Use Analytics to watch the traffic. Once you’re getting many hundred page views per week, you can then attempt some ads. (Google does not care, but some people say Yahoo may penalize new sites which have Google ads on them)

Remember that any site can make money with AdSense if the site has traffic. The more traffic the site has, the more money it will make from advertising of any type. It’s just that simple! Therefore, success with paid click advertising depends on great Internet marketing skills.

It is all about how many targeted eyeballs see your site! If you site is about dogs, you really need to drive people to it who have an internet in dogs. Clear? If dog lovers come to your site, some of them will click on the ads. Clear? If they do not care for dogs, they will be gone before they even see the ads.

I suggest ordering the book The Adsense Code, by Joel Comm. It will often help you with tweaking the placement & style of the ads on your pages.

Tracking AdSense Advertising

February 29th, 2008 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

AdSense on line reports allow you to customize the reports with whatever details are most important to you… You can include the number of page impressions, the click & the click-through rate. You can track how well ads in different formats are doing when compared to other formats. You can see how color impacts the success of the ads displayed on your website. You may rather rapidly see some specific trends that will cause you to make changes to your other webpages to get better results. There is more. The AdSense tracking tool allows you to see earnings by URL, doman, ad type, category and, of course, to see your earnings.

If you look at your AdSense tracking report & find that one specific page’s of ads are doing significantly better than any other type of ad on your website, it only makes sense to determine what make that ad special. Did you change the color of the ads on that specific page? Did you change the placement for that page? By trying different things on different pages, you can rapidly learn what works best for you on your website & make changes to other web pages on the site accordingly. You can just as easily see from these reports what’s not-TEMP working well, also. Then, of course, you will want to get rid of that attribute from the other web pages too.

There are other tracking tools available & even some automated tracking scripts out there that you can download. It seems that virtually everyone wants to get into developing tracking tools. However, because Google has developed AdSense & knows what the members of their community want & need, why turn to anyone else for tracking reports when AdSense has the tool that pretty much does everything you need right inside the application.

Refining an AdSense monetized website will allow you to maximize your income. The more people that click through on the AdSense ads, the more income you enjoy. Look to your tracking reports to determine exactly what works best for you & continue doing what works to earn the most income possible.

Adsense To Keep Your Visitors Happy

February 11th, 2008 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

Making the most out of your AdSense sites means maximizing traffic inflow & maximizing click thru rate. The click thru rate means how many of your visitors viewing your site click thru to the sites displayed on the google ads. This article will be focusing on increasing visitor click thru rates through good AdSense placement.

There is a lot of advice about how to incorporate Google AdSense ads into your site. Each webpage is completely unique & following blanket statements such as the best spot is to the left, top or right may not yield the best results for your particular page. I’ve come up with a few guidelines that will often help you with better ad placement & increase your AdSense income.

Firstly, make certain there is enough white space around your ads. There is more. Try not to scrunch everything in. This does not need to be said but keep the adsense links in the same theme as the rest of your site. It does not have to be the same color, you can have a look at a color wheel for contrasting colors if it all looks a bit too plain.

Secondly, think about what it’s that grabs your visitors attention. Keep your ads to the top or left of the main attention grabbing content of that page. If your viewers will be looking at content in the centre then place the ads to the top or left of that content. Is there an image on the left hand side that will grab the visitors attention? Try to place the ad to the top of the image.

Setting ads near main content may mean you lose page space for other items. Many sites have a site index or other links to the left & putting ads there may disrupt your website design. If you have site links to the left I recommend using google ads at the top. Likewise if your index is at the top you can have your ads to the left. OK. Some use drop down links at the top which means you can place google ads at the top & to the left if you wish.

For a graphical look at ideal ad placement you can view the google heat map here:
https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=17954

Bear in mind what your visitor is looking for. Keep your visitors happy :) & they will keep coming back. Design your site for your visitor first, AdSense or other income second.

How To Get Approved for Google Adsense

February 5th, 2008 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

So you wish to monetize your website by publishing Google Adsense so that you can earn for every click. The first step in the process is getting your website approved to run these ads. Google will only allow quality site with quality content into its Adsense program.

If you have a website that has good regular updated content, lots of pages & good traffic then you probably will not have any problems getting approved. If your site is new & you have a few pages of content & not may visitors then I would suggest not trying to get a site like this approved for the program. That doesn’t mean that Adsense is not for you – you can still get approved.

There are two, quick, no hassle ways to get approved for the Google Adsense program. None of them require having your own website so you actually do not need your own website to get paid from Adsense.

The first way is to get yourself a free blog from blogger.com Google owns Blogger & it has a built in approval system for adsense. This means that anyone who has a blog on blogger.com, who wished to take part in the Google Adsense program is going to get approved. The first thing you really need to do after you set up your account is to make a couple of posts. Clear? It’s best to keep these posts within the same subject. Create good quality content that people will want to read.

When you have finished setting up your blog, you can then go into your user control panel & apply for the adsense program. This is a simple step & once you follow all the instructions, you’ll be approved in a matter of minutes.

Another way to get approved for Google Adsense is to set up an account with hubpages.com This is a revenue sharing site that allows you to earn adsense income from the ads that are showing on your pages. Once you have created a page or hub on hubpages.com you can then go into your affiliate settings & apply for adsense. And so… Since Hubpages is applying for you, you’ll not have any problems getting approved & you’ll be earning money from adsense in no time.

After you get approved, you can then use your adsense id anywhere you choose, even on your own website without having to get it approved individually. Just make certain you keep withing the terms & conditions of Google Adsense. You will not want to get your Google Adsense account banned after you so easily got it, right?

Google Adsense for Beginners Part One

January 30th, 2008 Rob Posted in Adsense No Comments »

Lots of people ask me, how do I make money with Adsense. Mind you most of the people that are asking me this are people just getting into building their own websites, & are trying to get on the internet money train to attempt & earn a few extra dollars.

When people ask me this, it kind of shocks me a bit, because I’m no expert when it comes to making money with Adsense, I only make roughly $600 a year with it, I do however know how it works, & ways to make it work better for you, my problem has just been getting traffic to the sites so I can even have the chance to be making any of the revenue I know how to make.

Adsense is a great source of income for a lot of people, & there is still room for many more people to join in & start making some extra spending money, & maybe even making enough to quit their regular job. You just have to know some basic information about the program, general marketing strategies, & be willing to put a lot of long, hard work into your projects. There is more. The last step is where most people fall short on, even I fall short on that one. You have to have the dedication to make certain your sites/blogs are updated often with new fresh content so you can continue driving traffic to your site. Because with out traffic it does not matter how well you blend your ads, where you place them or anything else you do with the ads, if you do not have traffic you can not make money.

Steps needed to get up & running with Adsense:

First, you really need to sign up with Adsense.

Once Adsense reviews your site, they will get back to you & tell you whether or not you were accepted into the program. If at first you were not successful in getting in, do not fret. Make the adjustments to your site that was noted in your rejection email & then reapply. If you still do not get it, another option is applying from a Blogger account, they almost always (always) approve those accounts.

Second Once your approved for an account, log in & grab the code given to you from Adsense & copy & paste that into your source code on your site. Depending on how you develop your site this process might change. On this blog, & others of mine I use the plug in Adsense Deluxe. It’s very simple to use, a must have for any WordPress blog you’re wanting to use Adsense with.

For right now, this is all I’ve for you, I’ll be making Part Two of this post shortly with more steps, tricks, & tips for you to use on your sites. Please feel free to ask me any questions.
